Dehong teachers’ College (DTC), founded in 1955, is a full-time public  teachers’ college. It is supervised by the People’s Government of Yunnan province. The college is located in Mangshi—the capital city of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, China. Mangshi is also the hub of Yunnan-Myanmar transportation and Sino-Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline.

 

At present, there are 10,012 students and 447 teachers, of whom 164 are with deputy senior or above professional and technical titles, including 34 senior professional and technical titles. 214 teachers hold graduate degrees. 10 teachers hold doctoral degrees and 7 teachers are doctoral candidates. The campus covers an area of 990.21 mu or 660,000 square meters. The total teaching and research equipment is worth 129,303,500 RMB yuan. There are 1,039,400 books in the library. There are 11 schools including School of Humanities, School of Education and School of Information, etc., providing 44 specialties.

 

DTC is based in Dehong, facing Yunnan, radiating surrounding countries, serving the economic and social development of Dehong, China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone Dehong Area, the construction of Ruili National Key Development and Opening Pilot Zone and the “the Belt and Road” initiative. Now the college has established extensive cooperation with colleges and universities, governmental educational departments and research institutions in Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar, Laos and Thailand.

 

DTC has also successfully been approved by Hanban as a test center of HSK (Chinese proficiency test), BCT( Business Chinese Test ) and YCT (Youth Chinese Test). Over 300 international students in DTC have passed the HSK 4 test or above. At present, DTC has accumulated rich theoretical and practical experience in the education and talent cultivation of international students, and has an excellent teaching and management team.

 

 

1. Chinese Language Education in Primary School

The major mainly cultivates versatile language and cultural talents with a high level of Chinese proficiency and cultural literacy, who can get a general understanding of China, and be able to use Chinese for cross-cultural communication and general academic research. Graduates can engage in jobs related to Chinese language and culture, such as teachers, translators, journalists, civil servants, and other professions.

2. Other Majors

Those who have obtained the HSK 4 certificate can apply to study the following majors, or after passing the HSK 4 test within one year after admission, the students can apply to study the following majors:

1. Self-supporting Students

Tuition fee: charged according to the tuition standard of each major. Accommodation fee: 450 yuan/year/person. Enjoy “two subsidies” preferential policy: the fee for textbook and the first year’s medical examination will be subsidized.

 

2. Students with DTC International Students Scholarship

Applicants who have been approved for DTC International Students Scholarship can enjoy the "two exemptions and three subsidies" preferential policy, which includes free tuition and accommodation, subsidized textbooks, first year medical examination, and one set of luggage.

 

 

1. Non-Chinese citizens with valid passports or Myanmar-China border pass.

2. With good physical and mental health, willing to abide by the Chinese laws and regulations.

3. High school graduate or equivalent.

4. Age: 18-30.

5. With sufficient financial support.

(Note: The international students who hold Myanmar-China border passes will be issued a completion certificate after they have completed their study.)

 

1. DTC Application Form for International Students (Appendix 1), filled in Chinese or English, 1 original version+ 1 scanned copy.

2. 1 scanned copy of the photo page of passport or Myanmar-China border pass, with photo, name, date of birth, date of expiry, and passport number,etc.

3. High school diploma and transcripts. Scanned copies of original documents, and notarized Chinese or English translations for non-Chinese and English materials. If the applicant is a current student, he or she should obtain the expected graduation certificate before June 31, 2023. The copies of graduation certificate and transcript are required for registration.

4. A study plan in China (no less than 300 words), written in Chinese or English.

5. 1 original version + 1 scanned copy of PHYSICAL EXAMINATION RECORD FOR FOREIGNERS (Appendix 2), filled in Chinese or English. All the items in the form are required to be covered. If there are any missing items or there is no applicant photo or no official seal of the medical department, the form is invalid. Since the test results are valid for 6 months, the applicant is supposed to find the right time for the physical examination accordingly.

6. Certificate of No Criminal Record.

7. Letter of Sponsorship (Appendix 3).

8. Other awards or certificates.

9. A digital photo (named after the passport number, color photo, 2 inch or 3.5cm*5.2cm, white background with no frame, the head accounts for 2/3 of the photo, no less than 320*240 pixels, ratio 4:3, 100-500KB, JPG format).

Note:

1. The application documents must be originals or notarized copies in Chinese and English. For non-Chinese and English materials, the original and notarized Chinese or English translations must be submitted at the same time.

2. Please scan the relevant documents with a scanner and submit them. Documents photographed by mobile phones or cameras will not be accepted.

3. Application documents will not be returned regardless of admission or not.

 

 

1. Please go on the English website of Dehong Teachers’ College http://english.dhecw.cn to download DTC Application Form for International Students (Appendix 1), and fill in the application form carefully. The digital materials should be packaged and email to the Admission Office dhsz_dwhzyjlc@163.com. The deadline for application is June 15, 2023.

2. DTC will organize experts to review the applicant’s application documents, select the possible candidates, and organize the entrance examination. Only candidates with the score of 60 or above can be enrolled.

3. Applicants should check their emails regularly to avoid missing important notifications.

4. At the beginning of July, DTC will send Admission Letter, Visa Application Form for Studying in China, and Admission Guide, etc. to the admitted applicants.

5. Admitted applicants should complete the registration procedure before the deadline according to Admission Letter. Those who fail to register on time will be disqualified from enrollment.

6. The admitted students need to purchase the comprehensive insurance for international students. They need to apply for X1 visa or extend X1 visa at their own expense, and bear the transportation expenses to and from China, living expenses and other expenses.
